OUR MISSION

We are the link between the Mortals and Immortals.

We are the ones who take the concerns of
the Mortals of the Realms, and hone their ideas
into thoughtful, complete proposals for
the Immortals to consider and implement.

We keep the Immortals in touch with
what the players really want.

We are the ones who seek to make the Realms a better place.

THE HISTORY OF THE SYMPOSIUM

In 1995, Strahd formed the Mortal Council (MC)--direct
ambassadors to the mortal community. They would bring
complaints, concerns, and ideas of the mortals to the
Immortal community. Soon afterwards, Elcid took over the
reins, and the MC advanced. It became the main factor in
deciding which avatars would become possible candidates
for Immortalhood. MC was the first council to have mortal
members, a noteboard, and a meeting hall in Darkhaven.

In February 1997, Fauvre refashioned the MC into The
Symposium (TS). Since this time, TS has remained a driving
force for the benefits of the mortal community. One of the
largest projects by TS was the creation of Town Hall, to
house the boards of information for the Realms.

Today, TS continues work on behalf of the mortal community
to bring forth ideas and concerns. Representatives are
encouraged to seek out a mortal perspective on new ideas.
In addition to working with the mortal members, TS
Immortals are responsible for overseeing the advancement
process for avatars to the rank of Neophyte, the first
level of immortality.

HOW TO SUBMIT AN IDEA

You can submit an idea by either...
A) Posting a note on the Tome of Conception in Town Hall
to outline the idea.
B) Contacting a mortal TS rep (type "who TS" to find one
online) and create the proposal with their assistance.

All ideas should be written in a clear and concise manner
that explains the desired result, advantages, and
disadvantages of the proposal. If an idea is controversial
or complex, the author may be invited to a TS meeting to
help explain their intent, but attendance is not required.

Generally, suggestions for new classes or races are not
being accepted at this time, however, well proposed ideas
will be passed along for future consideration.

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR IDEA
After your idea has been posted on the Tome of Conception,
or given to a TS member, the idea is posted on TS Forums.
TS members read the idea and post pros and cons for the
concept, debating the feasibility and desirability of the
idea. After thorough discussion, the idea is voted on at
the weekly TS meetings.

If TS decides to pass your idea, it will be taken to the
Visionary Consortium, and posted for their appraisal. They
will vote on the idea as well.

If VC also passes your idea, it is then passed to the
Council of Elders for a final vote. If it passes this, it
is placed on the project list to be implemented a.s.a.p.

At any time, you can consult a TS member, or read "Help
Tsnews" or the Tome of Conception board, to find out the
status of your idea.
